Brenda VanLengen is a 15-year veteran women’s sports broadcaster and has served as a game analyst for NCAA women’s basketball on ESPN, Fox Sports Net, CBS College Sports, and Metro Sports locally, plus WNBA coverage on NBATV. She has served as analyst for the Big 12 Conference package on Fox Sports Net since 1998. In addition, she’s called the Division II National Championship Game the past five years and has broadcast NCAA Division I Tournament games since 1999.
VanLengen served as Executive Director of the 1998 NCAA Women’s Final Four hosted by Kansas City, has served on the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission Board of Directors and the Women’s Intersport Network (WIN) for Kansas City for ten years.
VanLengen was Vice President of Women’s Sports for Lawrence, KS-based Coach’s Edge from 1995-2001, with a leave of absence for the 1998 Women’s Final Four. Since 2001, VanLengen has helped build the Kansas City-based national non-profit organization, PE4life, and most recently has served as its Chief Design Officer. She was an Assistant Coach for the University of Nebraska Women’s Basketball team from 1990-95 and was a two-time Academic All-American at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. VanLengen was honored with the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award by UNK. |
